About: Tina Nabatchi

Tina Nabatchi is an Associate Professor of Public Administration and International Affairs at the Maxwell School of Syracuse University. She is also a Research Director with PARCC’s Collaborative Governance Initiative. Her research focuses on citizen participation and deliberation, collaborative governance, and conflict resolution. She examines theory and practice, and uses both quantitative and qualitative methods for evaluation. Though her scholarship is varied, the unifying theme is democratic governance in public administration. Nabatchi’s award-winning research has been published in numerous journals and books. She is the lead editor of Democracy in Motion (Oxford University Press 2012), the most comprehensive assessment of the practice and impact of deliberative civic engagement available. Nabatchi also runs a citizen engagement effort in Central New York called CNYSpeaks.
